The Cà Gennara farm
The Azienda Agricola Cà Gennara is located in the land adjacent to the old stone farmhouse that houses the bed and breakfast. We put into practice the concepts of "natural" agriculture of Masanobu Fukuoka, that is to cultivate following the rules dictated by nature itself, as far as possible. The tillage of the land is reduced to the bare minimum, we do not use synthetic products such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides, we choose the varieties of fruit and vegetables that are best suited to be grown in this corner of the Apennines. Laying hens also live with us, roaming freely in the orchard, helping us to keep herbs and insects at bay and giving us splendid eggs every day to use in the preparation of pasta and desserts. There are also some dwarf goats that give a great hand in the containment of brambles and weeds that push from the surrounding woods.
We grow: seasonal vegetables, fruit trees (cherry trees, plums, pears, apple trees, grapes), small fruits (raspberries, blackberries, currants) and every now and then we dedicate ourselves to the wild collection of herbs or berries of the place (cornelian, sloe, juniper , rosehip, mint, lemon balm, nettle, horsetail etc ...)
